Campaign URL tagging made easy with CampTag

Creating URL formats and Campaign URLs made easy with CampTag, the awesome marketing taxonomy and URL builder.

Campaign URL tagging is not something most of us enjoy doing, because of the multiple dimensions and values, entering them accurately, and then validating them. Most free URL builder tools only allow you to create one URL at a time, making it painful to copy and paste them each time you create a campaign.

Worry not! Our awesome URL builder is here.

Read on to find out how to create hundreds of URL tags with custom dimensions in a few easy clicks.

Creating URL Formats in CampTag

This guide assumes that you have already added the Dimensions you want including custom dimensions, and have created Campaign Names for your campaigns.

Lets get started

  1. Go to URL Formats by using the link in the sidebar.
  2. Click on Create URL Format on top right
  3. Enter a name for the URL Format, Description, and Character limit
  4. Choose the Dimensions from the list you have already added.
  5. If you want to have the Name Format you already created, you can choose that from the Name Option. Remember that this can give you the Campaign Name and URLs in a single export, so that it’s easier for your AdOps team to copy from a single spreadsheet.
  6. You can also choose Aliases, convert your campaign names to Name IDs and also choose Parent Name Formats at this stage. Creating new URL formats
